In order to awaken children's readers to the correct sense of gender equality, Lee Geum-yi showed a character doing what he likes and does well without stereotypes about gender. The artist Ko Jeong-soon, who drew the painting, also made full use of the theme of the work by drawing ordinary images, not fancy princesses and princes.
